As announced before, we have recently formalized the camera selection process when uploading an entry to the challenges. This enables us to deliver an interesting new feature, statistics of cameras used in challenges.
You can access the statistics page directly from the URL (http://www.dpreview.com/challenges/stats) or through the menu on the left, under Challenges.
We used several terminologies on the statistics which may need description:
- Rank is determined by the number of entries submitted to any challenge using a particular camera during the week that ends on previous Sunday. For instance, if you access the page on Wednesday, 12 August, the statistics displayed is based on entries that was submitted from Satuday, 1 August through Saturday, 8 August.
- Users is determined by the number of unique user submitting at least one entry with a particular camera. A user can submit entries with two different camera and will be counted once on each camera.

You must have a lot of time on your hands.

Neat. Shows up some interesting information regarding the usage of cameras. Another piece of info I thought of that would be interesting to see would be an average result column ( i.e 1 = users of this camera always win, 0 = users of the camera always come last ). Would be interesting to see if 'better' cameras are used by people who get better results.

I wonder how users can be zero and entries be a positive number for the same camera?
Statistics are fun, but I wish some development resources could be dedicated to making it quicker to find the specifications of a certain model.
The quickest I've found is typing "camera_name menus" (without quotes) in the general search box. Then the first hit tends to be page ~10 (menus) of the camera's review. (Searching for "camera_name review" rarely works...) I click on the link and then choose the specifications page from the drop-down menu.
Before I figured out adding "menus" as a search word, I had to wade through many hits.
Going to advanced search and select reviews is four extra clicks and one extra search.
The camera database menu is not a quick way either - you have to wait for camera images loading and then search through lots of cameras visually.
Please, if the search word in the general search box is a camera model, could the first two hits be the specifications and the review? (I've suggested this via feedback earlier.)
Table formatting for forum posts is also more urgent than weekly tracking of fluctuations in challenge camera model statistics, IMHO.

@Erik:
Regarding your first question, the users statistics is updated on a week by week basis. So it does not indicate the total user of that camera for all time. The thinking behind this is that users can change camera over time, so having a user statistic on an all-time basis does not really portray the correct situation of any given time.
For example: Nikon D2H statistics for week ending on 9 August 09 are; user: 0, total: 59, new: 0. This means that there are 59 entries with Nikon D2H, but no one is using it for the past week.

With all due respect, I really don't understand why you keep spending so much time and money making the system for these challenges? It's more a photoshop competition than a photography challenge, if you ask me.
I think users of this site would much rather have many more of your excellent lens reviews.
Keep up the good work.

Right on! I couldnt agree more... more reviews, less challenges! spend the effort on what DPReview stands for!!!
as a wedding photographer in perth, the reviews mean a great deal when buying new gear!

I like the Challenge statistics! I only miss an option to display all challenge photos taken by a selected camera. I thinks this would make the statistics a great evaluation tool for all prospective buyers?

@Pavel:
We have just added a new page. Just click on any camera name from within the statistics page to see the isolated chart for that camera and recent high-rated entries on challenges.
